FAQ - PROFESSIONAL FAMILY photoGRAPHY

I'm flexible on swapping dates, times, when I can, so if you cancel because you no longer can make it or you think you won't like the weather, I'll only refund the deposit if I'm able to rebook the time. If it starts to rain during the shoot, I'll continue to shoot unless it pours and we both agree to call it a day. To reschedule you'll need to cover the cost of a new ROE permit ($20). If we cannot reschedule, your deposit can be used up to 1 year later on a future shoot with me, not transferrable, not redeemable for cash. 

You will download your Kauai photography full resolution digital images from a private gallery I will make for you, linked to your email. So it's very important once you book to give me your email address and your mobile phone number.    

I choose however I will edit more photos than included in your package, so you will have some selection leeway, typically an extra 10-20 photos to choose from. You may purchase any/all of the extra photos.  Optionally you can purchase a one-pass edit of all the photos from your session for an add-on fee of $240 

Shared ownership. You and me. You have the right to print, sell, publish, etc. When you post on social media I would appreciate being tagged.  I have the right to use your photos and or video for SunsetsAtThe Beach publicity including print, social media, and websites.   

From the shoot date it is typically 2 to 5 days for 30-mins - 2-hour sessions, and 1-4 weeks for multiple hour events.  

Unless it's pouring I usually shoot. An umbrella is a great looking prop in a photo shoot so having one with you is an awesome idea. Bear in mind, rain is commonplace in Kauai. That's why it's so verdant. While it's not common to have persistent rain, five minute showers are typical.   See cancellation policy question in this Q and A.

30-mins before actual sunset if conditions prevail I'll have more control with lighting.  Kauai mornings can be amazing, too. But whatever time, it's really all up to atmospheric conditions, which determine red lightwaves or blue, blazingly colorful sky or white sky, along with clouds, mist, wind.   Needless, I produce wow-factor photographs at all times of the day. 

YES. I typically don't make editing mistakes but if you find errors or artifacts introduced by the editing of course I'll fix free of charge. I'll also do minor adjustments on up to 3 photos without charging. For all other fixes my fee is $15-$50 per photo based on what you'd like me to attempt, bearing in mind that not all fixes are possible.      

No. Sorry.  All my photo packages include editing and all the photos I shoot are shared ownership, you and me. You can, however, get copies of the RAW within 3 days. See below!  

You'll need to give me access to an FTP account  (such as WeTransfer). The prep and transfer fee from my end is $200 

Advanced photo touch-up editing. All my packages include color correction, bright area smoothing, clutter removal, background enhancement, minor face/body touch-up. Summit editing is next level photo touch-up.  

My favorite photo locations are all along our north shore, Kilauea to Ke'e.  But I do shoot all over our island.

Not without a second shooter, a licensed drone flyer. Add-on fees start at $500 

Kauai surprise proposals? Absolutely. However, an alternative, less costly way to do a proposal is for you to tell your significant other you're having a photo shoot. It will still be a surprise when you pop the question. But doing it this way we'll be eliminating the surprise photoshoot which requires precise time/ precise spot planning.
